ACLU NC stands by lobbyist’s sexually explicit Twitter tirade

On Tuesday, an ACLU North Carolina lobbyist, Kristie Puckett Williams, made graphic, sexually harassing comments to conservative radio host Pete Kaliner during a Twitter discussion regarding N.C. Senate Bill 49, the Parents' Bill of Rights. Puckett Williams, Deputy Director of Engagement at the ACLU of N.C., tweeted at Kaliner criticizing his support of the bill and used more graphic directions for performing sexual acts.

Tillis, Burr help pass same-sex marriage bill

North Carolina U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis has been working on fellow Republicans to support the Respect for Marriage Act, and found success Tuesday as it passed the chamber, 61-36. The U.S. House is expected to pass the bill by the end of the year. It will then go to President Biden's desk for signature. Opponents say it puts a target on religious organizations.
